Natural Treatment For Bv – Easy Home Remedies For Bacterial Vaginosis
If you are one of the many thousands of women worldwide who suffer from bacterial vaginosis, you may have already tried endless rounds of antibiotics and over the counter treatments all to no avail. Although they may give symptomatic relief, they do nothing to get to the root cause and this is precisely why most women will have further outbreaks.
Natural treatment for BV has been shown to be much more effective than conventional medication. It may sometimes require a little more effort, but in the long run, getting to the root cause is really the only way to ensure that bacterial vaginosis just becomes a distant memory.
There are 3 simple home remedies for bacterial vaginosis which may, in some cases, be all that is needed to get some relief. Natural treatment for BV has no side effects and often uses simple ingredients which are economical and readily available.
1. Cider Vinegar-The mild acidic nature of cider vinegar means it can help restore balance within the vagina which is inevitably disrupted for BV to occur. The vagina has an alkaline environment when BV is present and adding a couple of cups of cider vinegar to your bath can help to get things back on track.
2. Tea Tree Oil-The powerful antibiotic qualities of this natural oil make it a strong adversary for the harmful bacteria which is present in the vagina when you have bacterial vaginosis. Try adding 10-12 drops to a shallow bath. Alternatively, you may wish to try tea tree oil pessaries which are available from health food stores.
3. Live Probiotic Yogurt-This is rich in the beneficial bacteria, Lactobacillus. This type is also present in the body and helps to maintain good health within the vagina. It can, of course, be eaten, but some women find it particularly beneficial when placed directly into the vagina via a tampon.
If your bacterial vaginosis is mild, you may find that any one of the above natural treatment for BV strategies to be sufficient to get rid of the condition. However, if you suffer from recurrent bacterial vaginosis or your symptoms are particularly troublesome, it is far better to use a strategic approach which ensures that you eliminate every possible cause of BV, ensuring that there

is no way the harmful bacteria causing the condition can survive.
Prompt action is always a good idea if you have BV as although not dangerous in the early stages, if left untreated bacterial vaginosis can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and even infertility.
Treatment for monthly Bacterial Vaginosis?
Each and every month I get BV. My OB/GYN usually just prescribes Flagyl (sp?) I have also tried the gel for 5 nights. We have tried a higher dose of the medicine and have even tried using the gel twice a week for a month.
Even after all this I still get BV every month.
I hate this. Does anyone know what kind of specialist I could see or know of any type of treatment that may work better for me?
I have tried the yogurt thing and I do take acidolphus (sp?) daily.
Please let me know if you have ANY advice!!!!!
